Penny Hill Wind Farm
Penny Hill Wind Farm located in Ulley, south east of Rotherham and the west of the M1 and M18 in South Yorkshire. The construction of the £21.9m wind farm began in July. These turbines are the largest ON shore in the United Kingdom. The turbines will tower the sky at 80 meters high (height to the tip of blade 132m) for the next 25 years. Each blade is 50 meters long and each turbine will generate 3.4 MW this is the highest capacity of any turbines used on shore in a wind farm. Penny Hill will produce enough energy to meet the yearly electricity consumption needs of over 12,000 homes across the lifespan of the wind farm
